Transfer Deadline Day: The News So Far

It’s Transfer Deadline Day today, until 23:00pm GMT and you know what that means? All football clubs will be scrambling to wheel and deal until the late hours in securing the right football players for the rest of the season, plus Niko Kranjcar, who’s usually being chased by Harry Redknapp, will be staying put with his injury at Rangers, as Harry Redknapp is still out of management. So, no need to worry about him ending up at Sunderland or something like that, plus no informal chats with Redknapp from his car window, then? Fernando Torres was the most expensive deadline day deal ever, for 50million pounds back in 2011, which also proved to be one of the worst flops signings ever for Chelsea, so it’s not always good to panic buy any big name.

But, what’s happened so far in this January Transfer window? Well, West Ham’s Dimitri Payet finally forced his move home to Marseille just yesterday, for 25 million Pounds. They got him on the cheap, with the threat of having a disgruntled player still being left at the club to divide the dressing room. West ham claimed that Robert Snodgrass’s signing, somehow evened out the playing field at The London Stadium. Hmmm? Some might say “chinner” to that one?

Big rumors suggest with all the offers coming in from China for Wayne Rooney, is that he might be ready to move in this window for 20million Pounds and he is set to make over 615,000 a week for Beijing Guoan, according to The Star. The reason everyone wouldn’t mind him moving is because he has accomplished everything at his time at Manchester United, even breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s all time goal scoring record at the club, just last week with 250 goals.

However, if a big China move goes ahead, Rooney would make his move in mid to late February. Well, with just two weeks left in the virtual January window with Manchester United on Football Manager 2017, we’re convinced that he’s unhappy as he is in the game and he wants a new challenge. We should probably sell him to China, wouldn’t you? Manchester United winger, Ashley Young is expected to seal a deal to China by the end of the deadline this evening. However, it’s touch and go. Southampton are rushing to tie up the signing of Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini for a fee of 14million pounds which has been agreed with Napoli and we should be seeing him unveiled soon at St. Mary’s.

Crystal Palace with newly appointed Sam Allardyce, the ousted ex-England manager is still looking to sure things up at the back and thus, they are hot on the heels of ostracized French defender Mamadou Sakho of Liverpool. Southampton are also interested, but only in a loan deal, which has surely made Crystal Palace realize that a 20million Pound price tag on Sakho is not even worth it, so it’s looking like Crystal Palace will seek a loan deal, too. We expect Sakho to leave Liverpool by the end of the window. We also believe Liverpool will lose to visitors Chelsea tonight, when they meet in the Premier League. Thus, killing their title hopes, let’s wait and watch that unfold.

That haircut of Sakho’s is worth a cool 5 million Pounds, alone. Just ask Pogba! Photo Credit: Sky Sports

Chelsea will not sign Moussa Dembele from Celtic for 40-30million pounds in this transfer window, because the timing isn’t right, even though the Scottish Premier League is quite a few steps down in opposition quality than that of the English Premier League, Chelsea believe in this hot prospect, who also scored 3 goals in the Champions League. This deal might happen in the summer, although, with Basthuayi warming the bench, so what’s the point of having Moussa Dembele? Therefore, Chelsea is also hunting Andrea Bellotti from F.C. Torino, who has scored 19 goals in 25 appearances this season. But, where would Bellotti play for Chelsea? He wouldn’t, he would only be sitting on the bench, mostly. Moving on, now…But, Dembele is reportedly in London already, but, just to have a scan on one of his legs, they say, hmmm? Let’s see…

West Ham defensive youngster, Reece Oxford, is set to tie up a loan deal to Scottish club Rangers, to give him some playing time and match experience in Glasgow. We feel sorry for him, but it will also be good for him. Scotland? Emmanuel Adebayor has signed for some Turkish club and is doing a medical there. Who cares?

Aston Villa with Steve Bruce has been given the green light to clear out and sign new players; and is attempting to bring in Scott Hogan from Brentford, the buzzing little striker would be seen as a replacement for the shamed striker, Ross McCormack, who is up for sale after he made numerous excuses for never going to training, even going as far as saying that the electric gate protecting his home, was broken. What a sh*t signing he was? But, with Jordan Rhodes also an Aston Villa target, we wonder if all these players are equally as low quality and Aston Villa are just recycling English or British strikers that nobody actually wants, because they are totally overrated. Let’s see who else Aston Villa can bring into this confused side, but with Ashley Westwood potentially switching to the claret and blue of Burnley, this would truly be the best news for Aston Villa, in many-many years. He’s garbage! Why won’t Aston Villa sign Leonardo Ulloa from Leicester, that’s instant promotion for “Christ’s Sake”!

Arsenal are said to have sealed a deal for Kostas Manolos from Roma for 47 million pounds, but this won’t happen until the summer. Ha-ha, let’s be serious Arsenal won’t be signing anyone at all. It’s all lies, sorry, you “gunners”.

So, what of Leonardo Ulloa of Leicester, who has totally been ignored by Claudio Ranieri this term; with him preferring to play a below par Jamie Vardy or Mahrez’s buddy, Islam Slimani, ahead of him. Claudio Ranieri hasn’t reciprocated last seasons’ success of winning the Premier League, not even close, as Leicester City find themselves just above the relegation zone. Islam Slimani has been subject of some ridiculously high bids from Chinese clubs in this window and Ranieri might have been hanging onto Leonardo Ulloa until getting the right high price sale of Slimani to the Far-East? However, he has been dilly-dallying there and he’s pissed off Ulloa and so he can’t really sell Slimani now, a “stupid” move, Claudio! And, they play Burnley tonight, so things are a little busy right now and it looks like Ulloa won’t be going anywhere. Leonardo has also stated that he will never play for Leicester City again. So, that’s done.

Back from the dead? Is Ravel Morrison going to Hull City or QPR? Photo Credit: ESPN

That sums up the biggest stories of the day so far, but Ravel Morrison might end up at Hull City, who are literally dying without any players to speak of at the moment, and Morrison could fill the void left by former captain Robert Snodgrass’s move to West Ham. QPR have said that they’d like to sign him, as well.

As we write this and listen to all the news, we are still waiting to hear about Niko Kranjcar, surely he will move somewhere, again?

Things are heating up, indeed! Everyone is stuck to the sofa watching people like Thierry Henry, “chat sh*t” about all of today’s transfer events…But, there’s also seven league games tonight in the EPL, so there’s a lot to think about, still…

Latest News is that Scott Hogan has actually signed for Aston Villa from Brentford, for around 11 million pounds, so let’s hope he can deliver for the Villains…

Brainstain, over and out!
