Just when you thought there wouldn’t be any more Pirates of The Caribbean films, up pops another one that most people had entirely forgotten about being in production. So, once again delving into the exhaustless tales of Jack Sparrow, which is based upon the famous ride at Disney World and is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Here we have Part V and it sees flashback scenes to a young Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and one thing is clear, Hollywood can reverse time with their CGI skills, placing Depp’s younger face back onto his shoulders in a quite a impressive bit of special effects work. Here’s the new trailer.
It does look like a neat trailer and it even stars Javier Bardem, the Spanish actor that we aren’t so sure about after seeing him play a fake Brazilian in the film ‘Eat, Pray & Love’, so that along with the notion that so many blockbuster films have such terribly weak plotlines and scripts, that are just filled with action, CGI and seemingly no consistency to speak of; so could this be the last installment to the franchise that has at times, carried the trend of kids’ parents falling asleep in their cinema seats? Let’s hear about the plot, shall we?
It goes a little something like this, ‘Jack Sparrow searches for the trident of Poseidon’. Hmmm. Sounds like a riveting plotline, doesn’t it? However, we aren’t the only people not really watching these films.
We wonder if he’s watched this new one? Probably not and we don’t blame him. We haven’t watched the last four films properly either, often switching them off halfway through, often times confused as to which Pirates of the Caribbean film it really was, with seemingly a new film coming out all the time.
But, surely this one looks like it could be one of the better films in the whole franchise and it is definitely seeming like the last time, that we might get to see Johnny Depp as ‘Jack Sparrow’. Unless of course, there’s a part 6, so that they can tie up that double trilogy of Caribbean films, right?
We definitely might need another finale after this film comes out on May 26th, 2017, in the United States or do we? Well, at least Javier Bardem is Spanish in Salazar’s Revenge and Jack Sparrow promises some humorous one liners, as always.
This new trailer should come as welcome news for any fans of the films and this one is promised to be an improvement upon previous efforts, so that sounds very promising, indeed. Here you can catch up on all the four films, buy them here.
