Nothing is off-limits when it comes to crappy reality TV these days and so why aren’t we surprised at the latest news coming at us today, OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony could be up for their own reality TV show, according to TMZ.
Casey Anthony was acquitted of murdering her daughter, Caylee in 2011, after initially being charged for murder in 2008, and OJ Simpson was acquitted of that double homicide in 1995, but was later arrested in 2008, for holding up a Hotel Room in a robbery at gunpoint, in regard to some valuable sports memorabilia with his name on it.
With OJ Simpson finally up for release on October 1st, 2017, pending a visit to the parole board, so the vultures of reality TV are on high alert to scoop an OJ Simpson TV show or reality documentary. Apparently, Casey Anthony might team up with OJ for this new show and OJ has apparently left Casey Anthony on his visitors list whilst still in Prison. So, a meeting of the murderous minds or what beckons now? Casey Anthony is in fact fascinated by OJ Simpson’s case and his story and so this might actually be happening.
Neither seem quite content with staying away from the limelight, in the light of the said murders, even though being acquitted, surely now is the time to make a big buck out of the ordeals that they went through or even carried out, right? Instead of living on in peace and quiet.
But, they were acquitted and you know, that sort of thing, it’s in the past now, so let’s put them on TV. It does seem a little sick to us, doesn’t it?
An inside source told IN Touch Magazine, “It will give viewers the inside story on the aftermath of living with the horrible crimes they were ultimately acquitted of”
With OJ Simpson to face the parole board, the source said, “In October a parole board will decide if he will be released early. He’s putting Casey on his visitor list, and is even willing to pay for her to visit.”
Hmmm? Casey Anthony now a free woman, gave IN Touch Magazine mixed signals with in regard to a TV show, saying by Text, “My past will remain out there. I will talk about Casey going forward. Maybe a reality show?”
So, just a maybe? Then Casey said she “was kidding” and stated, “Who would watch it anyway, I know the ones that say they wouldn’t.”
America’s most hated woman, living in Florida, said “’Eventually people will be seeing more of me. I am not hiding from something I did not do… just to appease others.”
So, it’s touch and go at the moment with the show, but TMZ seem hell-bent on making one happen, after speaking with several TV production companies about the subject matter, but the last time OJ tried to make a killing with a TV special, named “If I Did it” which was set to air in 2006,along with his book by the same name, was shot down by FOX after a public outcry with many stating that it was wrong for Simpson to make money out of such a tasteless topic, such as his suspected murdering of his wife and her suspected lover.
However, the recent TV movie The People vs OJ Simpson was a big hit, and so Pandora’s box has been opened again with in regard to the OJ Simpson murder trial and any related material, proving a hit with viewers, starring Cuba Gooden Jr.
TMZ seem undeterred about people thinking it would be wrong for Simpson to profit from his wife’s murder, saying that the money would go towards the $33.5 million wrongful death suit awarded against him, after he was sued by the families of his wife and Mr. Goldman.
Casey Anthony also wondered as to how something like her being paid for any TV show on Caylee’s death, might be perceived, saying, “Against popular belief, I am not trying to cash in on Caylee’s death. But why would I do an interview for nothing. What would I get out of it? No one would believe anything I had to say anyway…So, there’s really no point.”
Casey Anthony had earlier said the following about OJ Simpson, “I can empathize with his situation” as there are a lot of parallels between her and OJ’s suffering from their legal cases.
There you have it! Will Casey Anthony visit Simpson in jail to open discussions and will TMZ ever give up on a salacious high ratings TV show idea?
All of that remains to be seen, but seemingly, questionable murderer’s are getting the chance at TV stardom again?
Brainstain, over and out!
