Just when you thought there couldn’t be anymore Planet of the Apes films, tomorrow sees the release of ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ which is the latest instalment to the big blockbuster movie franchise, which shows no signs of slowing down.
The new film released in cinema’s nationwide today and tomorrow, (depending on where you are in the world), will bring much joy to all the Ape’s fans, as they can continue to follow the story of Caesar, that smart chimpanzee, who just keeps on getting more and more clever and also dangerous by the day. Will he finally kill all the humans? Let’s check out this extended trailer and learn more.
The film stars Woody Harrelson and it’s the third chapter to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but we could’ve sworn that there’s definitely been more than three films in the franchise apart form the old classic trilogy, but this film will wrap up another trilogy in a series, that has focused on the character of Caesar. Here’s the official plot line from FoxMovies.com:
‘In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.’
Sounds exciting, so will you go to the movies this weekend to watch it? Perhaps, you should if you have nothing else to do, as this will be the pick of the bunch this coming weekend in cinemas and so far with the amazingly lifelike CGI that brings these Apes to life, this will be a welcome escape from all the quite dreadful human beings that you encounter on a daily basis, right?
We’re definitely partial to some Ape’s films here at Brainstain, so apart from the classics, judging from the previous two films, this should round off the story of Caesar with an epic battle, hence the title ‘War for the Planet of the Apes‘. This last film will no doubt have Ape’s fans going Ape sh*t, so there’s always that to look forward to this weekend.
Brainstain, over and out!
