UEFA Champions League: Groups E to H Match 2 Predictions

Tonight, this Tuesday night, the Champions League returns once again for the second set of matches in the group stages, this time starting things of with Group’s E to H. What’s better than that? Not much we reckon, so let’s run down the coming matches with some information and predictions, shall we?

To kick things off in the right direction (haw haw), listen to the anthem down below and get in the proper football mood. No matter how much you love or despise this anthem, along with any football pundits that you just can’t stand listening to (you know who they are), nothing quite gets a football fan riled up like a good anthem. Anyway, let’s cut right to the chase so you can just get some quick insight from us about what’s happening tonight. Let’s go!

Tuesday 26th September, 2017

Group E

Sevilla vs. Maribor – We envisage a standard home victory here for Sevilla, who have Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel in attack and currently lie in third place in La Liga, whereas Maribor are no slouches but they will find it hard to score in Sevilla. Prediction: Home win

Spartak Moscow vs. Liverpool – Liverpool are away in Moscow, expect tension in the stands, but also expect Liverpool to carve out a victory despite a leaky defence, with Coutinho and Mane set to feature in attack. Prediction: Liverpool to Win/Both teams to Score

Group F

Napoli vs. Feyenord – Napoli are absolutely flying in Serie A, sitting at the top of the table, but they lost their first Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk, so going out to the Eastern block isn’t always easy, but with Feyenord coming to Naples and with their shaky start in the Eredivisie and in losing 4-0 to Man City in the first CL match, we very much expect a Napoli win, with players like Insigne and Zielinski in fine form for the home side. Prediction: Home Win

Will Sergio Augero net against Shakhtar? He already has 6 goals in 6 games this season and is about to break the Manchester City scoring record of all time. Legend! Credit: TheSun

Manchester City vs. Shakhtar Donetsk – Shakhtar Donetsk won against Napoli 2-1 in the first group game and are no pushovers, but with Manchester City’s unbelievable attack and with them being at home, we expect Sergio Aguero to score and it will be another comfortable win for Pep Guardiola’s side in Europe. Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Group G

Besiktas vs. RB Leipzig – Now no team likes to play in Turkey and RasenBallSport Leipzig are no different, having a bit of a shaky start in the Bundesliga as well, with only winning three of the first six matches in all, whilst Besiktas have only lost one match in the league so far and are in second place in the league, plus they beat Porto comfortably 1-3 in Portugal in the first CL match. However, Timo Werner is in fine form, with 5 goals in 6 games, as is Naby Keita who didn’t get his Liverpool move until next summer, but speaking of fine form, so is ex-Liverpool Dutch wideman turned striker in Turkey, Ryan Babel who has got 3 goals in 6 games, plus with Brazilian Talisca in an attacking central midfield role for the Turkish side, makes them even more of a threat to Rasen BallSport. PredictionBoth teams to Score

Monaco vs. FC Porto – Monaco has been a money machine, no, not just the town, but the football side, in selling numerous key stars from last season, absolutely raking it in, with a further £166 million coming in for the final transfer fee of the already departed Kylian Mbappe next summer. Unbelievable! But, Monaco have invested wisely this summer and Colombian Radamel Falcao is on fire right now, as he was before he left Monaco for Manchester United and Chelsea, a couple seasons ago. They’re up against FC Porto, who have won 7 League Games in a row, but they lost heavily to Besiktas. So, this could prove to be a tight match, with Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar in attack, scoring 6 goals in 7 games this season already, however, Radamel Falcao has more, plus they’re at home and they’ve got Thomas Lemar on the left wing, as well. PredictionAS Monaco to Win/Both Teams to Score

Group H

Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Madrid – Real Madrid have had a shaky start to their La Liga season by their standards and are currently lying in 6th place with only 11 points after six matches in La Liga, but talisman and genius Cristiano Ronaldo is back after his suspension of five games, which may explain the dip in form in the league, but they lost to Real Betis on the 20th of September 0-1 with Ronaldo even in the side, as well. Plus the fans have been booing Gareth Bale, but Ceballos, Isco and Asensio are much loved and are in fine form, so it’s interesting to see how this match plays out tonight. Borussia Dortmund on the other hand, are on the back of a humbling defeat to Tottenham in the first match of the CL group stage, losing 3-1 with Harry Kane netting twice at Wembley. However, Borussia Dortmund just smashed Borussia Monchengladbach 6-1 at the weekend, with the fastest FIFA 18 (pre-order here) rated striker in the world, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring a hat trick. So, this game is going to be the pick of the night, for sure. Prediction: Both Teams to Score

APOEL FC vs. Tottenham – Tottenham travel out to Cyprus, to play APOEL FC, who lost 3-0 in Madrid in the first CL match, which was expected, but Spurs have six key players injured and or unavailable, which makes you wonder if some of the players are simply avoiding this trip (only joking), but APOEL have had a bad start to their domestic season, lying in 11th place after three matches, without any star players even worth mentioning. On the other hand, Tottenham are in fine form, so despite being without Eriksen, Alli, Dembele and other players like Aurier for this match, Harry Kane has still made the trip, we believe. PredictionTottenham Away Win

So, there you have it! Will you be placing some bets, or just simply enjoying the games? Maybe a little of both? The choice is yours, either way, it’s always best to have a beer close at hand. Come back tomorrow for some more predictions on Wednesday nights CL matches!

Brainstain, over and out!
