The Han Solo Movie Now Has An Official Name

Ron Howard is directing the forthcoming Han Solo movie in the Star Wars franchise, and now the name of the film has been revealed, so hang onto your seats, since it’s a rather underwhelming name, (drumroll…..)

It’s going to be called ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ and this should probably quell any of the excitement that anyone had for the film beforehand, even though, the film is already now going into post-production, plus it’s slated for a release on the 25th of May 2018, just in time for the summer blockbuster season.

However, since this film is being directed by the immensely acclaimed and very talented director, Ron Howard,  it has to be good, right? There’s not yet a trailer out for it, but we expect this to be landing sometime early next year. Now here’s Ron Howard’s enthusiastic announcement of the name in pure humble Howard fashion.

Could this latest film in the Disney Lucasfilm relationship be classed as on par with their other films in recent years, plus that of the forthcoming The Last Jedi, or will this be a different type of film and story all together? Only time will tell, but this is set outside the main franchise, so anything is possible. But, let’s take a look at an onset photo inside the Millennium Falcon, shall we?

Chewbacca looks the part and is that Han Solo in there, in the middle? Yes, Alden Ehrenreich is the young Han Solo, although, he looks nothing like Harrison Ford, or does he? And, there you also have Woody Harrelson for good measure, but at least there’s no Samuel J. Jackson or Ewan McGregor, we suppose…

In the photo though, you will notice Donald Glover who’s expertly cast as a young Lando Calrissian, which looks very good to us, indeed. Additionally, the film will star one of our favourite ladies in Thandie Newton, so let’s give this film a chance, even though, it’s a sort of spin-off film, which let’s admit, don’t always go down well with authentic fans of many films, do they?

But for all the Star Wars fans out there, they need to mark the 25th of May in their calendars either way, since this will be a fresh reveal in the very early days before Han Solo and Chewbacca joined the Rebellion, plus with Lando in the story too, before the great betrayal.

The script is still shrouded in much mystery and everyone is now wondering if this film can really live up to the work in their other recent films, such as in The Force Awakens, Rogue One and the forthcoming The Last Jedi.

Don’t count this one out, but it could very well be a lighter take on the Star Wars saga or will it bring that same Force, as those other films?

Brainstain, over and out!

  1. It’s a befitting title. The first spin-off Rogue one made just over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Let’s see what this one can do. Ron Howard directed it so it’s going to be good of course.
