In the next few days, Twitter will increase its character count from 140 characters to 280 characters, thus doubling the Tweeting power. This upgrade couldn’t have come at a better time, as the user interface is not only going through a resurgence of late, with rates of new users signing up growing by the day, but also the need for 280 character Tweets has never been more prominent than ever before.
“Make Twitter Great Again!” they said, or should that be Make Twitter Greater Again?
The people who have made Twitter greater again, have of course been the common everyday hashtag using users that make up the crux of the social media website, playing their hashtag games, (which are infectiously fun by the way), where wit and cleverness prevails in humour over their rivals at Facebook (2 billion users) and Instagram (800 million users). Facebook relies more on interactions with old friends that you may not know anymore, and as for Instagram, the only thing that place is good for is seeing women posing in various stages of partial undress, photos of what people are eating for lunch on a daily basis, or gym selfies and workout videos. All of that can get boring, fast!
It’s no wonder why more and more people are getting on the Twitter train than ever before, with a reported 330 million users worldwide (and growing) now on the social media platform. The person who has made Twitter notorious in its popularity in recent times is none other than President Donald J. Trump, who communicates directly via the Tweet based social media site, to bypass fake news media outlets and communicate his thoughts and intentions directly to the American people.
No matter what the Twitter employees at San Francisco’s Market Street office think of Donald Trump, there’s no denying that he has helped to Make Twitter Great Again. That’s a fact!
Another thing that you’ll find a lot of on Twitter is his mass following of Patriots and Conservatives, who lend their support to the logical right, and to the American President, as we’ve never seen before for any President before him. Twitter is the mouth piece of the new counter-culture. You can even find us on there too! Click here and join in the fun.
With the ability to be able to Tweet in 280 characters, it will give us all more space to express ourselves, but as Twitter continues to run tests on the new limit, it doesn’t indicate that a lot users will feel the need to Tweet with 280 characters. Maybe they will solely give people the option of tweeting longer, should they wish to.
Don’t worry, we won’t bombard you with 280 character Tweets if we can help it, but we do look forward to seeing others do just that, including President Donald J. Trump.
Speaking of whom, today is November 8th; one year from the big election win of 2016, so there’s that to celebrate too. Happy Tweeting Everyone!
Brainstain, over and out!
