Ryan Seacrest Accused of Sexually Harassing Former Stylist Suzie Hardy

Ryan Seacrest, the E! Red Carpet go-to guy and undoubted king of reality television (Keeping Up with The Kardashians), has been accused by his former stylist, Suzie Hardy, of some pretty descriptive sexual harassment offences, especially through the years  of 2007 through to 2009. In total, she worked for Ryan Seacrest for a full seven years.

Indeed, it was only a matter of time before Ryan Seacrest’s number came up in the craze of sexual harassment allegations, but what’s even more surprising is that so many people thought that he was secretly gay, but this latest scandal proves otherwise, as Suzie Hardy has described some pretty untoward sexual advances that she endured whilst working for Ryan at E! Entertainment, as his personal stylist.

Suzie Hardy has accused Ryan Seacrest of groping, slapping and even rubbing himself on her, which was originally hushed up in the media after Ms. Hardy and her lawyers sent a letter to E! in November last year, detailing her allegations against the TV host.

Ryan Seacrest’s lawyers have in return, accused Suzie Hardy of asking for $15 million in return for her silence, which Suzie and her legal team deny.

Back in 2013 when HR asked Suzie Hardy to detail her relationship with Ryan Seacrest, she shared her allegations for the first time. Not long after (exactly two weeks later), she unsurprisingly was removed from her position after seven years of service at E! Entertainment.

E! cleared Ryan Seacrest of any wrongdoing in January after an “extremely comprehensive and thorough investigation”, but now Suzie Hardy is speaking out in detail about the alleged sexual harassment that she went through. A letter from Hardy’s legal team was unearthed by Variety magazine, regarding the exact details of her allegations and it’s now all out in the open.

Suzie Hardy says that Seacrest “stuck his hand between her legs and cupped her crotch”. Suzie also described how Seacrest hugged her multiple times whilst only wearing underwear, and rubbed his erect penis against her back in 2007.

The inappropriate behaviour of Seacrest continued into the following year for the single mother, and one of her male co-workers at E! has confirmed the effervescent hugging that went on behind the scenes. The co-worker had learnt of the inappropriate behaviour from Hardy at the time, after she confided in him.

The year after the previous incident, Ryan Seacrest is accused of smacking Suzie Hardy’s buttocks so hard that it left her with a welt on her behind, as she claimed in her letter obtained by Variety. Suzie Hardy even provided photographic evidence of her slapped bottom to E! and Variety, as proof of the incident occurring.

This was around the same time that they were preparing for the Academy Awards, a time when Ryan Seacrest is extra excited. It was during this time that she accused him of jumping on top of her at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, and rubbed his erect penis against her in a simulated sex act. How awkward is that, if it’s indeed true?

However, the worst offence he committed against her, occurred in 2010. After she began dating a high profile entertainment lawyer, and when Ryan Seacrest found out about it, he allegedly asked her if she had “f**ked him yet?” before forcefully grabbing her genitals.

Suzie told Variety “I didn’t know how to deal with it”, since as a single mother, she needed the money over anything in order to support her family.

“I really didn’t. I was battling finally being in a decent financial position to breathe and be a mom, that I didn’t have to be freaking out all the time, and then dealing with this infantile celebrity person who was testing me on every level and manipulating me and knew that I was in a vulnerable position.”

Despite this behaviour, she strived to keep the relationship professional. Back in 2007, when she first styled Seacrest for the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, Seacrest reportedly asked her if she was attracted to him, to which she replied: “‘I’m attracted to my paycheck.”

That should’ve made things pretty clear to Seacrest from very early on, but it didn’t stop his behaviour from getting worse towards her over the years.

The early exchange, which she felt was derogatory, left her on the verge of tears. Ryan Seacrest’s attorney denies all Suzie Hardy’s allegations, and has taken issue with the publishing of the accusation details, despite E! clearing him of any wrongdoing.

Andrew Baum, Seacrest’s attorney said, “It is upsetting to us that Variety is electing to run a “story” about untrue allegations that were made against my client, after they were told that the accuser threatened to make those false claims against him unless he paid her $15 million.”

“At that time, the claimant threatened to issue a demonstrably false press statement unless she was paid. Instead, my client proactively and publicly denied the claims and agreed to fully cooperate with E!’s investigation about the matter.”

Andrew Baum also pointed out that E! dismissed all her claims, which all in all isn’t so surprising, is it?

Ryan Seacrest is pretty much the face of E! Entertainment, but Andrew Baum stipulated further: “On January 31st, the network notified us that their independent third-party investigation had concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support her claims, effectively, clearing my client’s name.”

Baum went on to state that Hardy is only after Seacrest’s money: “It’s telling that after my client refused to pay her money, and the E! investigation resulted as it did, that she is now coming forward to share her debunked story to the press.”

E! did not respond to Variety’s request for comment, but released this statement on the matter, that the investigation was ‘extremely comprehensive and thorough.’

“Over the course of a two month process, our outside counsel interviewed more than two dozen people regarding the allegations, including multiple separate meetings with the claimant. The investigator is an attorney with nearly 20 years experience and is highly regarded professionally. Any claims that question the legitimacy of this investigation are completely baseless.”

Back when the allegations first surfaced without the finer details, Ryan Seacrest released a statement, saying: “Recently, someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me nearly a decade ago at E! News, came forward with a complaint suggesting I behaved inappropriately toward her.”

“If I made her feel anything but respected, I am truly sorry. I dispute these reckless allegations and I plan to cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result.”

He later added that he’s been a model co-worker over the course of his career. “I treat all my colleagues with kindness, dignity, and understanding, as this is a principle that’s core to who I am. Throughout my 25 years in the entertainment industry, the majority of my co-workers have been women, and I’ve endeavored to foster a positive work environment of mutual respect and courtesy, as that’s how I believe it should be”.

“I’m distraught that anyone or any situation would call that into question. I’m proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself. I’m an advocate for women. I will continue to support their voices.”

Suzie Hardy says that all this came to be revealed when the Human Resources division at E! asked her about working for Ryan Seacrest, and not because she sought out a meeting with them. Suzie said to the HR department at the time,”I never touched him, I never kissed him, I never f***ed him, nothing. But I said, “But he touched me. I was in there for hours. I told them everything.”

Not long after her revelations to the HR department, she was fired, and her final job for Seacrest was leaving him a Tuxedo for him to dress himself ahead of the 2013 Academy Awards.

Suzie Hardy now works for a tech company in San Francisco, whilst Seacrest is back hosting American Idol, and is the co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan on ABC, apart from his long running Executive Producer credit on Keeping Up with The Kardashians.

So, what do you all make of these allegations against Ryan Seacrest? Are they true or are they false? Who has the “inside scoop” on these allegations, as Ryan would most likely put it…

This all remains to be seen. So, what will happen as a result of these allegations being made public now, also remains to be seen. Let’s keep our eyes open and our ears peeled in preparation for more information in the coming days. Now if you know something extra, then please do tell us in the comments section down below.
