FIFA 19 Out Today on PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch

Arguably one of the most important dates of the year has finally arrived, which sees EA Sports’ FIFA 19 unleashed onto the world, with a Champions League theme to it for the first time, and let’s just say, we’re pretty damn excited. Now, we know what you’re thinking: What’s the difference between the next instalment of the greatest sports game ever and the last one?

Well, apart from having the latest squads, the official Champions League license and Cristiano Ronaldo as their cover star, there’s plenty of new tweaks and advancements in the game to keep you equally entertained. But first, let’s check out the build up with the Champions Rise trailer, to see how EA Sports are marketing FIFA 19, as if it really needed any introduction.

It’s clear from that trailer that FIFA 19 has become somewhat of a religion, and with some additional changes in controls such as with the “first touch” and “first touch shooting”, there’s new skills to learn even for your seasoned FIFA veteran.

The FIFA 19 Active Touch System is a new advancement built into the game which sees players control the ball in different ways, depending on their skill level. It isn’t currently clear how much the ATS will affect the game, but it’s said as you play the game more and more, it becomes second nature to master the new skill feature, such as the old ‘click to flick’ technique. Let’s take a closer look!

FIFA 19 have made enough changes and improvements to entice fans to come back again on the back of the same formula (since it’s the best football game ever), and that’s all evident from the Champions League license, new squad updates, new in-depth gameplay build up with more cinematic fan animations, more brand new cinematic cut scenes in Career Mode, and even new tunnel cutscenes before matches to increase the overall football experience. After all, realism is what FIFA does best, and there are tons of new graphic advancements with cinematic aesthetics, with new player facial expressions, as well as advanced player reactions.

Furthermore, the Serie A and Ligue 1 divisions are now also fully licensed, plus new stadiums have arrived too, such as Tottenham Hotspur’s new White Hart Lane, even though it’s not quite finished yet in real life yet. So there you have it!
