The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are expecting a baby whilst on their sixteen day royal tour of Australia. The baby is expected top arrive in Spring 2019.
The royal couple made the official announcement on the Kensington Palace Twitter page to the world. Rumors suggest that a private announcement was already made on Friday at the wedding between Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended before they jetted off for their tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, arriving in Sydney just this weekend.
This is big news, and it has to be shared far and wide. Come Spring 2019, perhaps in conjunction with Brexit, there will also be a new addition to the Royal family.
Nobody is sure exactly when the baby is due, or how many weeks into her pregnancy Meghan Markle really is, but Spring falls in between the dates of March 20th and June 21st.
If the latest royal baby is due in March 2019, then Meghan Markle got pregnant in mid-June, and if the baby is due in late June, this would mean that Meghan and Harry conceived at the end of September.
Speculators are assuming that Meghan and Harry waited at least 12 weeks before making the announcement, which means that the Duchess of Sussex could be anywhere in between 12 to 17 weeks pregnant. If the Meghan Markle is 12 weeks pregnant, the baby will be born in late April or early May.
There had been lots of debate in recent weeks about whether or not Meghan Markle was pregnant after she recently been seen wearing looser outfits, such as at Princess Eugenie’s wedding where she wore a dark blue Givenchy coat. However, the rumors first began when Meghan stepped out in a blue Jason Wu dress at a gala in London back in September.
Nobody knows exactly how many weeks along in the pregnancy she is, apart from the nearest and dearest to the couple, but royal watchers have their predictions, with most suggesting that Meghan is indeed twelve weeks pregnant. ITV News’ Royal Editor, Chris Ship, tweeted, “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is pregnant. Baby due in the Spring. Meghan is around 12 weeks pregnant. Queen and Prince Philip plus Prince Charles were able to congratulate them at the #royalwedding on Friday”.
Meanwhile, Kensington Palace shared the following message to the public, “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
This is most definitely a new page of history for the Royal family, and a lovely new chapter in the lives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!
